FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1.
What model of iPad will you accept?
iPad eligibility: TechConnects requires operational iPads in good condition (i.e. no cracked screens). Ideally, we’re looking for iPads made after 2012, from the 4th Generation and above. You can identify the model of your iPad by looking up the serial number on the back of your device. Learn how.
2.
Do you accept devices other than iPads?
Yes. Whilst we are currently calling for donations of iPads for our partner program, uCan2 presented by Foundation House, if you have a laptop or other device, you can complete a donor form so we can contact you for future programs requiring devices other than iPads.
3.
I am not based in Melbourne, can I still donate?
Yes, you can send via post however TechConnects will not be able to take any responsibility for the parcel being damaged or not arriving. We would recommend you sending via courier or registered mail
4.
Who will receive my Device?
TechConnects delivers your donated iPads to our partner organisations. Our first partnered program is UCan2 presented by Foundation House / Victorian Foundation for the Survivors of Torture. Our partner organisation will then deliver to the program participants who will receive the donations permanently. You can learn more about our program partners here.
5.
Can I connect with the person I donate my Device to?
Due to privacy requirements, all recipients will remain confidential.
6.
Can I get a tax receipt for my donation?
As this is not a financial donation, you cannot receive a tax receipt for your donation.
7.
What is the process once you receive my Device?
We will thoroughly clean your device, check that the device has been returned to factory settings, have the device tagged and tested then deliver to the program partner. You can learn more about the process here.
